What our customers have to say:
“When we were working with spreadsheets, I remember long days of reviewing our documentation before we could draft our environmental reports. Now we have regular check-ins to review the Record of Consultation. It’s no longer a last-minute panic attack trying to review all the different versions.”
Erika Dawson,
Senior Advisor, Indigenous Relations, Hydro One
“Identifying the people we need to talk to geographically around the project is a critical piece of work no CRM has been able to assist us with. We’ve really capitalized on that with Borealis in the past 8 months.”
Community Engagement Manager
“Borealis helps us collect stakeholder comments during our consultation activities and plan the necessary measures and commitments to address them. During future public hearings, our teams are confident that they can quickly and easily retrieve information associated with the consultation process.”
Marc-André Lavergne,
“With Borealis I can review and report on our resolution center activity, such as call numbers, content, theme and response time. I’m proud to say that we manage these communications well. Our landowners know that we will always return their calls.”
Wendy Youmans,
Sr. Stakeholder Resolution Center Supervisor
“CN continuously strives to be a good neighbor to the thousands of communities we operate in and through. At the heart of that effort is effective communication with our federal, provincial, state, and local stakeholders. For the last two years, Borealis has been a critical tool in tracking and amplifying our varied communications. From tracking one-on-one engagements to organizing and managing broad issues and developing smart communications to large and diverse, yet targeted groups, CN has found Borealis to be an essential and invaluable tool.”
David Woodruff,
Assistant Vice President & Head of U.S. Public and Government Affairs at CN
“The Outlook add-in and mobile app greatly help with field activities. It makes Borealis a handy tool for instantly recording and accessing information right in the field. It’s our information hub connecting everyone and all their activities.”
Montserrat Palomar,
Sustainability Manager, Enel Green Power Mexico
“During our recent audit with the IFC, the auditor had the opportunity to see Borealis in action — and was truly impressed. I have been using Borealis across several auditing processes, including those internal one for corporate view, and it has proven to be an invaluable tool for ensuring transparency and consistency in our reporting. I also showcased how we managed issues and risks to our internal auditor, who immediately recognized the value of the solution and praised its clarity and efficiency.”

A stakeholder engagement software pioneer
In 1998, while working on a major pipeline project, I recognized a growing need in the extractive sector to better structure the stakeholder engagement process. At the time, companies were just beginning to view social risk as an integral part of project execution, and social impact programs were only starting to take shape. Six years later, I founded Borealis, which quickly became a leader in the Social Performance marketplace. For the past two decades, thanks to the help of great clients, partners and employees, our software has remained at the forefront of major infrastructure initiatives worldwide, from pipelines and transmission lines to hydro power, mines, oil fields, wind power, roads, ports, and railway projects.
