Boréalis Invests Over $2.5M of New Capital to Target Horizontal Markets

Magog, QC, June 1, 2015 – Software provider Boréalis today announced an investment of over $2.5 million to target new markets with its CSR software solution.

The company is extending its current portfolio to a horizontal market that caters to the needs of various industries. So far, the main focus had been on the niche markets of mining, oil and gas industries yet the issues and concepts addressed by the software apply to nearly any project.

“The Boréalis software has tremendous potential and we are convinced it will be a game changer for many businesses,” says Christian De Grâce, Managing Director. “Every infrastructure project deals with stakeholders and has to manage social and environmental risks.”

In its dedication to attract new markets, Boréalis also optimised the licencing of its software. Licence fees are now charged per user on a monthly basis, thus more accessible to SMBs, governmental institutions, and other organisations with smaller budgets.

“When André L’espérance and I decided to invest in the company, we knew we’d have to make some changes and define a new strategy,” says Mr. De Grâce. “Our experience with organisational growth applies directly to the company’s current situation and we’ve already succeeded in rebuilding its capital. 2014 marked a significant downturn for the mining and oil & gas market, but Boréalis was still able to continuously improve its software and develop its expertise.”

The Boréalis software tackles issues like miscommunication with stakeholders and provides the access to up-to-date operational information for management and investors. Reports and analysis of this information gives decision-makers comprehensive overview of the situation to follow-up on commitments and prevent crisis. The root of the software’s success with extractive projects lies in the gap between operational and decisional teams.
