Company Management
Jules Paquette is co-founder, president and CEO of Borealis (Boreal - Information Strategies). He specializes in information management and application integration. Jules has more than 15 years experience acquired mainly on international projects (Africa, North and South America, Europe) in the natural resources sectors (mining, oil and gas, etc.). He has put in place several different solutions using information technology and provides our clients with a strong functional and technical experience in improving corporate social performance.
Before creating Boreal - Information Strategies, Jules worked as a GIS specialist with the federal (Natural Resources Canada) and provincial (BC Environment) governments. He then joined Bombardier as a system architect where he quickly became the Director of Information technology.
Jules Paquette holds a Bachelor degree in Geography and Remote Sensing.
Patrick Gregoire is co-founder and executive vice-president of Boreal - Information Strategies. He supervises many international software development and geomatics projects (United States, Western Africa, Central America, Australia, etc.). With such international experience, Patrick offers strong functional and technical expertise as well as project management skills focusing on social responsibility.
Before creating Boreal - Information Strategies, he worked many years on the Chad-Cameroon ExxonMobil Pipeline project on the land access component based on International Finance Corporation standards. He has managed a number of other land management projects as well.
Patrick Gregoire did his undergraduate degree in Geography, specializing in GIS and Remote Sensing, and completed a graduate degree in Information Technology, focusing on management of IT and software development projects.
Philippe Hammond is Chief Technology Officer of Boreal - Information Strategies. He fosters Borealis' software talent and creative culture while consistently challenging the development, support and R&D teams to deliver the best enterprise applications.
Before joining Boreal - Information Strategies in 2009, Philippe helped many companies in the aerospace, automotive, energy, transportation and formula one industries to face their IT innovation challenges. He also worked as a software entrepreneur and served as the director of operations for an IT services company for many years.
Philippe holds a Bachelor degree in Engineering and is completing his MBA.
Christelle Faivre is a project manager and director of market development. She joined Boreal - Information Strategies in 2006 as international project manager. As such, she was in charge of the management of corporate social responsibility and environmental performance for a mine extension project in Pueblo Viejo in the Dominican Republic.
Before joining Boreal - Information Strategies' team, Christelle was the GIS manager of international projects (Europe, Latin America, Asia) for IGN France International (IGNFI), where she was in charge of development, production and implantation of GIS databases, quality control, schedule management and budgets. She has ten years experience in international project management, coordination and market development.
Christelle is an engineer in land surveying and topography, and hold a master's degree in Land Management and Cadastral Systems.
Martin Plante is the projects director for Africa. He is in charge of integrating applications for the management of corporate social responsibility. Martin has managed the implantation of solutions in Burkina Faso, Ghana, Guinea, and Democratic Republic of Congo for large mining companies.
Before joining Boreal - Information Strategies in 2006, Martin acquired a strong technical expertise in GIS through his work with the University of Sherbrooke.
Martin holds a diploma in Forestry and Geomatics.
Benoit Froment is director of projects in Latin America and Asia. He is in charge of implementing integrated solutions for the management of corporate social responsibility in large mining companies. Benoit has led the implementation of our solutions in the Dominican Republic, India, Afghanistan, Peru, Mongolia and Madagascar.
Before joining Boreal - Information Strategies in 2007, Benoit acquired a strong international expertise in land administration & surveying through his work with the World Bank in Latin America. He also worked on urban planning and civil engineering projects for international AREP Group.
Benoit holds a bachelorʼs degree and masterʼs degree in Land Surveying and Land administration.
Michelle Laflamme is a geomatics analyst. She has worked mainly in mining exploration and the management of social impacts for projects in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and in the United States (Arizona). She has developed a system of monthly reporting at the corporate level for which Boreal - Information Strategies was awarded an Octas in the "Business Intelligence" category. She specializes in facilitating access to strategic information and in adding a spatial dimension to information.
Before joining Boreal - Information Strategies in 2008, Michelle worked 12 years for Domtar Inc. where she managed several projects in geospatial information for forestry and environmental management. She also participated in land management of large private properties, and in the implantation of Forest Stewardship Council environmental certification systems.
Michèle is a land surveyor and holds a Bachelor degree in Geomatic Sciences and has a master's in Geography.
John Jacquet is Project Director and is in charge of the Borealis Branch in Australia. He is in charge of the projects and the team in Australia.
Before joining Boreal - Information Strategies in 2011, John managed the implementation of major software development projects in Australia, in Switzerland and in France, in the sectors of education, mining, e-health, scientific research and utilities.
John holds a Post Graduate Diploma in software engineering with specialisation in computer generated imagery and image analysis.
Yves Coulombe joined the Boreal - Information Strategies team in 2010 as Finance Director.
Over the years, he has developed experience in international business, having worked as a consultant with organizations in Canada, the United States, France, South America and India.
Yves holds a diploma in accounting from the University of Sherbrooke and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Philippe Darche is Technical Director at Boreal - Information Strategies. He leads the team responsible for our standard solution based on best business practices of Borealis in CSR and environmental performance.
Before joining Boreal - Information Strategies, Mr. Darche has worked for over 10 years in the field of geomatics in both the private and public sectors. He subsequently continued in the field of information technology for consulting firms as an architect and analyst. He participated in various development phases of information systems with a geomatics component on multiple projects.
Philippe Darche has a Bachelor of Geomatics at Laval University. Following graduation he completed two years of graduate studies in GIS.
Stephane Guillemette has been in charge of developing applications for the past 3 years at Boreal - Information Strategies. He is responsible for the conception and management of projects for business software development.
He has been working for several years in the web application development area and is specialized in organic and functional analysis and XML architecture development. He works regularly in Windows, Linux, and Unix environments and various programming languages.
Stephane has a college degree in Web application development - Programming and Analysis. He is also trained in team management.
