Boréalis first came to be over 15 years ago while founder Patrick Grégoire was working on a pipeline project in Africa and noticed a gap between operations and management, especially for social and environmental impact management. At the dawn of IT and in the early years of mainstream Corporate Social Responsibility, it seemed like a natural thing to combine the two to bring a software solution. After Boréalis’ official launch in 2004 and through close work with our clients in the field ever since, we noticed that it was not only possible to mitigate impacts of projects: we could turn them into positive impacts on communities, local economies, and the environment.

Meet the team
François compiles nearly 10 years of worldwide experience implementing complex CSR and environment solutions on large infrastructure projects across various industries (mining, pipeline, plant sites, oil & gas and petrochemical). His social performance expertise includes providing guidance to management teams on change management processes. François has extensive experience in stakeholder engagement, strategic social investment, grievance management, resettlement and livelihood restoration, socio-economic surveys, environmental monitoring, and biodiversity. He joined the Boréalis team in 2009, where he’s successfully contributed to projects around the world in both developed and developing countries. His combination of human relations skills, management experience and technical competencies makes him a multi-disciplinary actor in any project.
Louis R. Lieutenant
Louis specializes in Corporate Social Responsibility data management and delivery of quality solutions. He is Account Director for Africa and has important experience as a consultant working on several extractive projects, more specifically in Africa, Australia and Canada. With strong focus on delivering results and transfer of know-how, Louis has developed a strong expertise with community relations’ management, land access and shared value. He’s been with the Boréalis team since 2008 and contributed to the success of several projects that apply international CSR best practice and standards.
While working on a major pipeline in 1998 Patrick had the creative epiphany which led to the establishment of Boréalis. Companies were just starting to consider community and social risk as part of the execution of their projects - and the implementation of international social impact programs was still in its nascent stage. Six years later, Boréalis was born and rapidly grew into a leader in the Social Performance marketplace. Implementation of the Boréalis solution with global players in the natural resources arena validated Patrick's vision for success. For the past two decades, he has continued his leadership role in major infrastructure initiatives around the world - including pipelines, transmission lines, hydro-power, mines, oil fields, wind power, roads, port, and railway projects.
Vice-President, Business Development
Raymond is a business development professional in many industrial and infrastructure business segments. He has many years of experience in operations management and project development with international engineering-construction firms, more specifically for mining and metals, forestry products, biopharmaceuticals, and ports sectors. Raymond’s background brings an excellent complementarity to Boréalis’ team with his in-depth knowledge of developing major projects in North and Latin America, in Africa, in the Middle East, in Australia, in Asia and in Europe. His roadmap includes winning important projects on behalf of global clients. Stakeholder engagement has been crucial for each one of his achievements, including in managing major client accounts. He joined the team in early 2017.
